1. Information We Collect
Collection and Use of Personal Information
When you create an account in Zesto, we may ask you to provide personal information, such as:
- First and last name
- Username
- Email address
- Dietary restrictions or preferences (optional, provided by you to personalize recipe recommendations and app features)
- Profile picture (optional, uploaded by you to personalize your profile)
We use this information solely for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your user account
- To personalize your app experience (e.g., showing recipe recommendations based on dietary preferences)
- To display your chosen profile picture and username within the app
- To provide login and authentication services through Firebase Authentication
We do not sell, rent, or share this information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is processed and stored securely using Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore, and Storage), which comply with industry security standards.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Your email address is used solely for authentication, to verify that you are a legitimate user.
- We do not link your email address to your app activity.
- We do not use your email address for marketing, tracking, or profiling.
3. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your phone number, payment details, or any other personal information beyond what is specified in section 1. We do not track your in-app activity, and we never sell, rent, or share your information with third parties.
4. Data Storage & Security
Data Security
All personal information you provide is transmitted securely using encryption (TLS) and stored in Firebase, which also encrypts data at rest.
Profile pictures are uploaded to Firebase Storage with secure access rules to prevent unauthorized access.
We use standard encryption and authentication practices to protect your account.
5. Your Choices
User Control and Data Deletion
You can use Zesto without creating an account. If you sign in, you have full control over your data:
- You can view or update your profile information (name, dietary preferences, profile picture, etc.) in the app settings.
- You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen.
- When you delete your account, all associated personal information (including dietary preferences, profile image, name, username, and email) will be permanently removed from our systems, including Firebase.
6. Children's Privacy
Zesto is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
